The past that she would rather forget about.
Oh the past. The past of this dear sweet forgotten girl. It is quite the story really, though she does not care to talk too much about it but those who are curious enough are allowed to know the basics of it. Though she does no see why you would even want to know, she is not special so why care? She is nobody.
Her life was perfect as a child, or at least it was close to perfect. She and her twin sister had everything they could have ever wanted. Life was an adventure and they were happy. Though someone on the outside looking in may not have seen it that way. You see Zinnia and Aria's parents pushed them extremely hard. They had to be the best in everything they did or close to it anything less was not good enough. The twins never noticed it as a bad thing it was just how their lives were and didn't know any different. Aria, her twin; sung, did gymnastics, and rode horses. Zinnia rode horses, played a multitude of sports, and did some gymnastics as well though it was not quite at the level as her twin. The twins ended up at the top of everything they did. Aria was the best singer in her class and one of the best gymnasts of their age where they lived, Zinnia was the top player on just about every team she joined. What about riding? How were the twins at riding? They were the top riders in the area even though they were so young at the time.
Bet you are wondering at this point what is so bad about this girl's life, what could be so bad if she and her sister had everything they wanted as children. Well sure her life was great. For a while. It wasn't until that fateful night when girls were 10 years old. That night was the worst night in their entire lives and they will never be able to get it out of their minds. What happened that night that could be so bad? Their parents died in a horrible car accident and they were forever left alone with no other family left but each other. To make things worse, Zinnia saw the crash happen. Not that she told her sister that she did. You see she was out riding in one of the fields not far from the stable that they kept their horses at, even though she was not supposed to just go out riding for fun she was only allowed to train but of course she didn't listen she was a kid after all and was bound to not listen at some point. It was there that it began to storm and in her rush to get back she took a path close to the road. Her parents were in a car taking the winding road carefully when out of nowhere a huge truck smashed into them completely crushing the car. Screaming her head off she road as quickly as she could to put the horse away. That's all she can remember of that because in that time all she could think of was the vehicles smashing together at the time though she did not know it was her parents in the car. Next thing she knew she was at home with her twin when there was a knock on the door and with it came the news that rocked their world.
After that night with no other family the girls were put into the system and bounced around from foster home to foster home. You see, unable to cope with the loss of their parents the girls became trouble makers. Getting into things they shouldn't and well they ended up being separated after that. Just a year after loosing their parents the girls were torn away from each other. It didn't make them act any better of course if anything it made it worse. Zinnia can't say exactly what her sister was doing since they had no way to contact each other, but she can tell you it must not have been good. By the age of only fifteen Zinnia turned to alcohol and smoking to help cope with the pain. Sounds like our story is at an end huh? The poor girls are split and in a deep hole with no return. Well that is where you are wrong my dear. It didn't take long for her to realize that she was heading down a dark path but it did take two long years for Zinnia herself straightened out but eventually she did it. She got clean and stopped smoking. The pain wasn't gone but she was tired of wallowing in it. She wanted to be free. Free of the pain, free of the foster system and at seventeen she got free. How she did it, she has no idea but she did. She set herself on the right path and got to work searching for her sister.
A year later they found each other and begun running a stable together with the money that was left to them by their parents. Together they started getting back to the better things in life though the past still haunted them. Things went well for a year or so, the twins were training horses and Aria was showing again. Zin was doing great now that her life had settled into something of a normal. During one of her many rides to and walks through the park with one of her horses she ran into a young man, or rather it would be more accurate to say that he ran into her. Literally. A normal person would have probably been angry during such a manner of encounter but she wasn't though she was not sure why that was. Something about the young man made her smile and not stop. They ended up talking for hours and then getting to know and fall in love with each other over the following months. Life was great for the girl with the tragic past and she thought it would stay that way from then on and that with the love of the young man maybe just maybe she won't be so forgotten. Sadly the universe wouldn't be so kind to her.
A dark cloud of grief has settled over the forgotten girl's life. The storm that brought back the dark clouds into her life was the death of her twin sister, Aria. Not many know what happened that night and Zinnia doesn't like to talk about it. You see it was once again a storm that brought about the demise of the last of the forgotten girl's known family. Only this time it wasn't behind the wheel of a vehicle but on the back of a horse.
